Our Story

Ceylon Music Therapy Association & Husma

The Ceylon Music Therapy Association (CMTA) was established on August 27, 2023, under the leadership of Prof. Dayarohana Athukorala. On August 30, 2023, our director board was selected with 10 members. W.M. Tharusha Dewmith was chosen as the president of CMTA, and he is also the founder of the association. Initially, the association was named the Sri Lanka Music Therapy Association (SLMTA - LKMTA), but due to Sri Lankan law, the name was changed to Ceylon Music Therapy Association (CMTA - LKMTA) upon registration. W.M. Malki Sanjana, the co-founder and coordinator, is also recognized as the youngest hypnotist in Sri Lanka. Sharan Senevirathne serves as the secretary.

We conduct Music Therapy & Psychological programs across the country under the name Husma. So far, we have conducted 7 programs, with more to come in the near future.
